Verra Links

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 16 August 2026

The short version of our rules. This policy supplements our Terms of Service; if the two ever differ, the Terms of Service control.

Allowed uses

  • Shortening links to your own website, portfolio, booking page, invoice or proposal.
  • Sharing tidy links in email signatures, social posts, print materials, QR codes and presentations.
  • Tracking aggregate click performance on campaigns and content you publish.
  • Linking to public pages you are permitted to share.

Prohibited uses

  • Phishing, fake login pages or credential harvesting.
  • Malware, drive-by downloads or exploit pages.
  • Fraud and scams, including fake stores and investment or crypto schemes.
  • Spam — unsolicited bulk email, DMs, comments or posts containing your short links.
  • Impersonating a person, brand, business or government body.
  • Illegal content of any kind.
  • Deceptive redirects, cloaking, or destinations that don't match what the link claims to be.
  • Copyright or trademark infringement, including pirated material.
  • Automated abuse: bulk scripted link creation, rate-limit evasion, bot protection bypass or artificial click inflation.
  • Linking to private, internal or local network addresses.

How we enforce this

We screen destinations before a short link is created, apply rate limits and bot protection, and review reports we receive. Links that break these rules can be flagged, suspended or blocked without notice; suspended links show a safe notice page instead of redirecting. Repeat or severe abuse may be reported to hosting providers or authorities.

Reporting a problem
